SBIRT Trainings

Wednesday, August 17th at 8:30am -5:00pm: SBIRT Training of the Trainer (TOT): Ways to incorporate and teach others about the SBIRT practice within your own organization. After attending, you’ll be given information, materials and other tools to teach SBIRT to your internal network.
Wednesday, August 24th at 2:30-4:30pm: SBIRT Implementation training: Introduction to SBIRT with an overview of the practice, opportunities to practice and be connected to resources to support SBIRT as a standard of care.

Interactive Learning Series on Pharmacy for Clinicians

Key performance measures for patient-centered medical homes include medication-related issues. Clinical pharmacists have unique knowledge and skills that can complement the care provided by other PCMH team members.

The learning series is designed to help clinicians identify how to incorporate clinical pharmacists in their practices. Conducted through ECHO Colorado in live web-based, video-conference sessions, participants use a smart phone, tablet or laptop with a camera to virtually attend each 60-minute session. A subject matter expert will lead a presentation (15 minutes) and participants present a case for feedback, recommendations and discussion.
Topics include: Clinical Pharmacist scope of practice; Collaborative Drug Therapy Management; Financial models and benefits and Integration models.
Choose either of two 5-week sessions: Friday mornings, 7:00-8:00am, May 20th - June17th or Wednesdays, noon - 1:00pm, May 25th – June 22nd.

Tobacco Free and Well Body Advanced Techniques Trainings

“The University of Colorado Behavioral Health & Wellness Program, in partnership with the San Juan Basin Health Department has announced two new training opportunities.

The DIMENSIONS: Advanced Techniques Tobacco Free and Well Body trainings are evidence-based one and a half day trainings intended for all health care providers and peer advocates. Trainees learn motivational engagement strategies, community referrals, educational activities, and individual and group wellness interventions. Attendees also receive a six-week group curriculum that supports positive behavioral health change. These trainings are a train-the trainer model, meaning participants will leave the training with the materials and knowledge to then train others within their organization.

These trainings will be offered:

Free, HRSA-Funded Nursing Leadership Course

“The Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence is in the third year of offering a HRSA-funded Nursing Leadership workshop. The final workshop dates under this grant are May 22-23 and May 28-30 (a total of five days in two segments), in Denver. This free workshop includes six months of weekly coaching by trained coaches. We have had 193 workshop participants since 2011, and they have given it very positive reviews. The focus is improving skills related to: change management; diversity and culture; effective communication; conflict resolution; negotiating and setting boundaries; and creating excellence in the workplace.

This HRSA-funded workshop was created to focus on Directors of Nursing and Assistant Directors of Nursing in the long term care sector, but the leadership development and coaching content is applicable to multiple positions and settings.
