“This year
some taxpayers may receive two new health care-related tax forms – the 1095-B and 1095-C, in addition to the
1095-A which
marketplaces issued last year. These tax forms are used to report whether a
consumer had health insurance that met minimum coverage requirements.
Generally, the 1095-B form is filed by government-sponsored health insurance
programs such as Medicaid. Providers of health coverage (including employers that
self-insure) will file either a 1095-B or 1095-C, depending on the size of the
employer and other factors. More information about how these new forms may
impact this tax season can be found in this Kaiser Health News article.” [Source: IRS]
