Colorado Dental Health Care Program for Low-Income Seniors

Colorado Cancer Coalition releases requests for proposals

“The Colorado Cancer Coalition announces the Colorado Cancer Fund 2014/15 request for proposals (RFP). Through the generous voluntary donations of Colorado taxpayers, we are able to fund twelve $5,000 awards this year. Proposed programs should focus on education, screening, diagnostic services, and/or efforts to improve the quality of life of people affected by cancer in Colorado.

The Colorado Cancer Fund Advisory Board seeks to award at least one grant in each of the following five regions of Colorado: Southeast, Southwest, Northwest, Northeast, and Denver metro area.  Appendix B illustrates the boundaries of these regions.  Grants may be awarded in amounts up to $5,000. Applications for any amount up to $5,000 are encouraged.  Eligible applicants for these grants include local governments, health departments, community-based programs, private sector entities, and nonprofit organizations.  Only one application per entity will be accepted.  Individuals are not eligible to apply.  Previous grantees are eligible.  Collaborative Task Force programs are eligible, provided that the application is sponsored by an otherwise eligible entity or organization.

RFP: Basic Human Needs Community Navigator Learning Cluster

“The Denver Foundation is requesting applications to participate from nonprofit organizations interested in joining the Basic Human Needs Community Navigator Learning Cluster.  This project is a two-year intensive Peer Learning Cluster among nonprofit and resident community navigators designed to leverage existing assets to develop a system of Basic Human Needs Community Navigators within targeted Metro Denver communities.  The work of this Cluster will focus on connecting low-income immigrant and refugee communities and low-income communities of color to available services.

Kaiser Permanente released "Walk and Wheel" RFPs

Kaiser Permanente Colorado Community Benefit released two Requests for Proposal (RFP) making $1.35 million available as part of the KP Walk and Wheel Colorado grant program.  Kaiser aims to create increased assess to multi-modal transportation to assure mobility for people of all ages and incomes.  Through a focused effort to increase walking and biking for daily activities, KP seeks to engage communities in the creation of safe environments that foster access to, promotion of and demand for more livable communities.

• Local city or county governments (up to 10) can apply for up to $100K over two years to implement community based solutions to promote walking, biking and multi-modal transit.
• Charitable or non-profit organizations; city, state or federal government agencies (up to 10) can apply for up to 35K over two years to implement worksite solutions to promote walking, biking and multi-modal transit.
