Changes to rule 8.960 for the Senior Dental Program

“This is to notify stakeholders that there will be technical changes to Rule 8.960 for the Colorado Dental Health Care Program for Low-Income Seniors (Senior Dental Program).  Click here to view the changes. This change ONLY clarifies covered dental care services under the Senior Dental Program and makes no changes to the existing program policy, covered services, or eligible seniors.  The clarification includes diagnostic imaging, emergency services, endodontic services, evaluation, oral and maxillofacial surgery, palliative treatment, periodontal treatment, preventive services, prophylaxis, removable prosthesis, and restorative services.

“The Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (the Department) worked with the Dental Advisory Committee (DAC) over the past few months to establish the Colorado Dental Health Care Program for Low-Income Seniors that was created through the passage of Senate Bill 14-180.  Grant proposals for the Colorado Dental Health Care Program for Low-Income Seniors are due Feburary 20th by 5pm MST. The Department’s website includes all information that will be required to submit the Grant Proposal along with timelines and other beneficial information.” [Source: HCPF]
