Health IT Summit Report and Recommendations

“The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment synthesized the discussion and recommendations that came out of the Health IT Summit in May 2014. The report highlights some of the opportunities to continue advancing the effective use of health information technology and clinical quality measurement in Colorado. Some key recommendations that are discussed in greater detail in the report include:
  • A call for participants to continue convening on this topic
  • A critical need for focusing on reliable and actionable data
  • A tremendous interest in advancing data analytics and data aggregation statewide
  • A potential for clinical quality measures simplification and agreement among diverse stakeholders
  • A concentrated effort to increase patient engagement in relation to the use of health information technology
