Introducing ECHO Colorado! Register for a virtual open house to learn more!

As a collaborating organization, ClinicNET is pleased to announce the official launch of the statewide Extension for Community Health Outcomes in Colorado (ECHO Colorado) program. ECHO Colorado is a statewide professional education initiative aimed at connecting health workforces to topic experts to increase access to specialty care and expert knowledge across underserved and rural areas using bi-directional video-conferencing technology.

There are three ECHO series, or learning communities, running in October, with a focus on pediatric epilepsy, patient navigation, and pediatric developmental spectrum. Upcoming topics include: neurology, food safety, diabetes & endocrinology, hepatitis C, cancer survivorship, integrated addiction & psychiatry, tobacco control, obesity prevention & nutrition, child abuse prevention, and population health. ECHO Colorado’s learning opportunities can help ClinicNET affiliate clinics:

• Enhance capacity to provide whole person health care within the context of families and communities.
• Enhance capacity to improve disease prevention outcomes.

Colorado State Innovation Model (SIM) Outreach Tour

“The Colorado State Innovation Model (SIM) is conducting an outreach tour to spread the word about their work. RSVP to attend a presentation near you (Nov. 9 – Nov. 13).

Join them in a town near you to find out how the Colorado SIM is working with stakeholders to promote integration of behavioral and physical health care. This transformation will accelerate the progress toward the Triple Aim of lower costs, better care and improved population health. It will also help Colorado to reach it's goal of becoming the healthiest state in the nation. Colorado has been awarded a $65 million grant from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation to transform practices, test new models for payment and care delivery, and integrate primary care and behavioral health care. Connect for Health Colorado Updates - DOI approves 2016 health insurance plans

• “The Colorado Division of Insurance announced approval of 2016 health insurance plans and rates. Increases in premiums average just under 10 percent for individual plans and a little more than 3 percent for small group. Of course, there are significant variations by area within the state. Read more.
• You can compare 2016 plans and premiums available to you, or someone you are helping, on our website right now. Because 2015 plans are still available for people who experience a Life Change Event, both plan years are available. Make sure you are looking under the correct effective date when you start shopping. Open Enrollment runs from November 1 through January 31.
• The Colorado HealthOP will not be offering coverage next year but individual members remain covered through the end of the year, as long as they continue paying premiums. Small business coverage ends on the renewal date. There have been media reports that some of the company’s network providers have declined to offer care to members. Colorado HealthOP provides guidance for that and other issues in an FAQ.
