Colorado HealthStory Top Ten & Statewide Community Profile

ClinicNET has worked hard for the past three years as part of Colorado HealthStory, in partnership with the Colorado Rural Health Center and the Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved. Colorado HealthStory has collected over 230 stories in 27 counties throughout the state. As we listened to Coloradans tell their health story, we heard ten recurring themes rise to the top – ten things we believe define and describe health care in Colorado. This top ten list is a reflection of Colorado’s own health story, and we’re proud to be able to help tell it. We encourage you to explore and share the Colorado HealthStory Top Ten and the Statewide Community Profile.

Behind the Stories with CPR's Health Reporter

"There are some big shifts in health care policy in this country that mean people who didn’t have coverage before can get it. Our health reporter Eric Whitney has been searching out the people whose lives could change as a result.

He tells us the stories behind the local pieces he did on this topic ( listen to them here and here), and the NPR story he produced on it as well. And he talks about the Colorado Health Story project, and websites that lay odds on whether the U.S. Supreme Court will uphold or strike down the federal Affordable Care Act."

Summit County Community Forum

Colorado HealthStory believes that nothing is more important than your health and the health of your family. But the decisions you make as a community shape the health and health care experiences of individuals living here.

You are invited you to join Colorado HealthStory at a community forum to hear the health stories of fellow Summit County residents and join the conversation about health in your community.  They have gathered first hand accounts from you and your neighbors--patients, community advocates, doctors, nurses, and other residents--and now they want to share them with you, along with some community health data.

Colorado HealthStory

Colorado HealthStory, a new collaborative project of ClinicNET, Colorado Coalition for the Medically Underserved and Colorado Rural Health Center, is modeled after the award winning public radio program, StoryCorps. Funded by The Colorado Trust and The Colorado Health Foundation Colorado HealthStory will create an appreciation of our shared experiences of health, one conversation at a time, throughout Colorado.
