New Medicaid Diabetes Self-Management Education codes open
“Medicaid is opening up two diabetes education G codes starting July 1, 2015. This will offer our members with diabetes more opportunities to learn about how to manage this chronic health condition. Medicaid members with a diagnosis of diabetes type 1, 2, or gestational diabetes are eligible for the classes. Providers interested in billing for these services must become an accredited program provider recognized by the American Diabetes Association’s Education Recognition Program (ERP) or the American Association of Diabetes Educators’ Diabetes Education Accreditation Program (DEAP).
