"The Colorado Health Foundation is offering the following Creating Healthy Schools funding opportunities:
Program Area:  Ensure all kids have age-appropriate, daily physical activity and healthy food and beverages in schools.  
Local planning and assessment – Aims to support local planning, capacity-building and community collaboration efforts.
Local implementation – Assists strategy execution in specific areas related to building or increasing healthy schools work.
Deadline for applications is June 15, 2016. To be considered for funding, applicants must meet specific criteria.

New Framework for School Behavioral Health Services

“The Colorado Legacy Foundation (CLF) recently released the Colorado Framework for School Behavioral Health Services, which includes a best practices blueprint for comprehensive school behavioral health services, a roadmap of critical success elements, and tools and resources to support schools in their implementation of comprehensive behavioral health systems.

The Framework supports the integration of behavioral health supports in schools with local behavioral health systems through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) combined with a System of Care (SOC).  The development of the Framework was guided by a leadership advisory committee comprised of education and behavioral health professionals and was informed by a literature review, interviews and focus groups, and a statewide gaps and barriers analysis.  Click here for more information.”  [Source:  COPrevent]

School-Based Health Center 2013 Request for Applications Released

"The School-Based Health Center Program posted its 2013 Request for Applications March 1. Applications are due back April 1 (no joke!). With more than $1 million available to help fund nearly 50 school-based health centers, a possible increase in State General Funds would allow for much-needed increases to the final award amounts.

The RFA is posted on the School-Based Health Center Program's webpage. Under the 2013 Request for Applications tab on the webpage are questions and answers, a link to the webinar hosted prior to posting the RFA, the Power Point that was used for the webinar and a link to the Quality Standards for Colorado School-Based Health Centers, the primary focus for this funding solicitation.

The 5 Day Public Comment period for the School-Based Health Centers policy statement opened March 27, 2012 and close on May 11, 2012.
