New task force to inform privacy and medical information

The state is looking for consumer reps and consumer advocates to serve on a newly-created task force (pursuant to HB14-1323) that handles privacy and medical information. HB14-1323Limits on Government Access to Personal Medical Information – states that the Governor shall request participation from representatives of consumer advocacy groups and consumers with chronic illness to review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding the ability of state and local government departments and agencies to access, use, and distribute personal medical information and medical records. The timeline is fairly short; it is anticipated that the first meeting of the task force will be July 9, 2014.
