UPDATED: Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) conference scholarships & travel support

Kaiser Permanente is generously offering scholarships for lead staff at ClinicNET affiliates to attend Institute for Healthcare Improvement conferences. In addition, they have provided ClinicNET with a limited amount of funding to support travel for eligible conference attendees. Click here for a list of upcoming IHI conferences through June. If you or another lead staff member at your clinic are interested in attending one of the upcoming IHI conferences please email Brooke Powers at brooke.powers@clinicnet.org
"This was the second IHI national conference I have attended, the first in 2006, and both proved to be quite valuable to my professional development. I have also done some of their online Open School courses and found them to be informative and well structured. I definitely feel that anything the IHI does is of high quality and worth the time and other resources for anyone at any level of an organization. They tend to accommodate all levels of knowledge in quality improvement work. They specifically address health care issues but come at it from all angles offering everything from board level to front line staff training. The lessons they teach are based on best practices and science from other industries as well as within the medical field. They have given me specific best and worst practices or lessons learned. I have had hands-on training in the details of quality improvement work from statistics to physician buy-in on projects. They offer tools that are tested and easy to use. I have not been disappointed by any of the tools or programs they have offered. The IHI was started by Don Berwick, a pediatrician who is now the head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and it continues on with a strong group of leaders he has trained from all over the world. I feel anything they put on or put out is worth checking out or spending time and money on." - Joe Craig, MD, Senior Medical Director, Rocky Mountain Youth
