The next Health Equity Learning Series Lunch, Health equity and the Social Determinants of Health, will take place Thursday, July 25th, 2013.
The speaker will be Adewale Troutman, MD, Director, Public Health Practice Program, University of South Florida and President, American Public Health Association. For more than 40 years, Dr. Troutman has studied and worked to advance health equity and to eliminate racism and other social injustices. Founder of the nation's first Center for Health Equity at Metro Louisville Department of Public Health and Wellness, Dr. Troutman is featured in the documentary, Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick? Please plan to attend and hear Dr. Troutman's insights about how social determinants of health - where people live, learn, work and play - affect health, and what we can do to address these factors.
