Overtime Rules Effective December 1, 2016

"On May 18, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced the adoption of proposed changes to overtime pay regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The amended regulations increase the minimum annual salary for exempt employees to $47,476 (currently $23,660) and for highly compensated employees to $134,004(currently $100,000). These rates will automatically increase every three years. No changes will be made to the duties test for exempt employees. The regulations take effect on Dec. 1, 2016. DOL has released a new fact sheet for nonprofit employers. Visit our overtime rules webpage for more background on the proposed rules."
