Colorado Tele-health Network Offering Broadband Subsidies

"Colorado Tele-health Network (CTN) has a consortium of agencies receiving a subsidy from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This subsidy is called the Healthcare Connect Fund. Recipients of the subsidy (which includes participants in CTN's consortium) receive funding for 65% of an organization's' cost for broadband services.

Charlie Wick, with CTN, explained that "public and not-for-profit health care providers are eligible to receive support under the Healthcare Connect Fund. 'Health care provider' is defined by statute as hospitals, rural health clinics, local health departments, community health centers or health centers providing healthcare to migrant workers and post-secondary educational institutions offering health care instruction, teaching hospitals, and medical schools."
