Team Development Training Opportunity

CCHN is extending an offer to ClinicNET affiliates to attend the Building Skills for Effective Teams training that we have coordinated in partnership with The Center for Nursing Excellence and Metro Community Provider Network. Together, we received funding from HRSA Nurse Education Practice, Quality and Retention Program to help support staff to be effective members and leaders of teams.

The 2013-2014 BSET training will occur over a 6-month period, and will strengthen teams within health centers. This training starts December 5-7 and extends over multiple days for the curriculum is integrated and builds on itself over time. Building Skills for Effective Teams (BSET) – Team Development Training
December 5-7, 2013; February 27-March 1, 2014; May 15-17, 2014; June 26-28, 2014
The BSET will include four 2.5 day workshops focused on providing and practicing in real-time an expanded set of skills and abilities needed to develop, lead and be part of effective interprofessional teams. These workshops will be combined with ongoing coaching by trained coaches and a capstone project. The first day of the workshop will be a half-day, from 5PM to 9PM (including dinner). The 2nd and 3rd days will run from 8AM to 5PM. Project outcomes include: 1. Significant acquisition of essential team-focused skills such as role-definition/negotiating, conflict resolution, shared decision making; 2. Increased levels of trust and communication between team members; 3. Assessment of personal and team operating styles (before and after) and performance based on national norms/testing instruments; 4. The implementation of a team-selected and team-implemented capstone project; and 5. A well-developed understanding of what are the best practices in team operations, based on current team effectiveness research
