Tweet Your Way Through Safety Net Clinic Week

Safety Net Clinic Week is a great chance for your clinic to expand and interact with your social network, piggy back on popular trends for increasing your social media presence and integrate multimedia into messaging.  This blog post speaks specifically to employing Twitter as a social media tool but some of its tips (such as quoting sources, mentioning your location, and more) are relevant to Facebook posts.

Elements of a great tweet
1.    Know your hashtags.  Curious about what’s a popular term (being “trended”)?  Head to the “Discover button” on the Twitter page and enter a #TERM that you’re searching for.  Popular terms for safety net clinic week include #SNCW12 and #safetynet.
2.    Share a quote from an attendee/staff member at safety net clinic week.
3.    Identify anyone you quote using their Twitter handle (ex: @ClinicNET).  If you don’t know it you can typically locate it on the individual/organization’s website by clicking on their web page’s twitter icon.  This will bring you to their twitter page where you can copy-paste their twitter handle into your own message.
4.    Mention your location.  (Ex: @ClinicNET)
5.    Include a photo.  See someone/something stupendous?  Include a picture and let others know!

Be sure to check out our Safety Net Clinic Week Toolkit for suggestions on messaging too.
