Access to FREE online learning module on motivational interviewing

“The SBIRT Colorado initiative at Peer Assistance Services promotes prevention and early intervention services for risky substance use. They are partnering with Kognito to offer online learning modules to help Colorado health professionals (physicians, nurses, behavioral health specialists, health educators, patient navigators, etc.) build their motivational interviewing skills.

The simulations allow health professionals to assess their ability to practice conversations about substance use, trauma, mental health, chronic pain, suicide risk assessment and related issues with virtual patients in a primary care or emergency room setting. Through December 2015, Peer Assistance Services is offering the option to use one of the following simulation modules for FREE: At Risk in Primary Care or At Risk in the ED. It takes about one hour to complete a module and it is possible to complete it in more than one sitting. Click here for more information.

Organizations or individuals who would like to access this free learning module may contact Erin Sharp at esharp@peerassist.org.  Erin will send you the log-in information. Physicians and nurses are eligible to receive 1.5 CME or CNE contact hours. This free opportunity ends December 31, 2015.” [Source: Peer Assistance Services]
