The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) recently launched a new initiative, Treatment Options: Explore. Compare. Prepare. This new effort promotes unbiased resources to help patients explore treatment options for their health conditions, compare the benefits and risks of each, and prepare to discuss them with their health care providers.
The resource user guide outlines many of the new materials with descriptions of how you can use them with your colleagues and/or members. Treatment Options initiative materials include short videos for patients and caregivers, brochure, social media tools, and a text-messaging program (all are available in English and Spanish). In addition to this consumer-focused initiative, new resource and tools for health care professionals are included in the guide as well.
