NeedyMeds Updates

Patient Assistance Resource Education (PAFE) Tutorial Released
NeedyMeds just released a web-based, self-paced tutorial designed to teach medical office staff and other healthcare workers how to better help patients who can't afford their medications and healthcare costs. Office staff gain practical knowledge about how to access and enroll patients in assistance programs and receive a certificate upon completion of the tutorial. Medical offices pay a small fee to purchase the tutorial. See the NeedyMeds website for more information.

New Grant to Help Clinics Better Access Free Drug Programs
In March NeedyMeds announced a grant program for clinics and other organizations that help individuals apply for free medicines through pharmaceutical patient assistance programs. The grants will provide software that simplifies and automates the often tedious and time-consuming process of applying to patient assistance programs. The software, called PAPTracker, saved patients $142 million on over 156 thousand prescriptions last year. Eligible organizations must be non-profit, see patients face-to-face and currently help people apply to patient assistance programs. Full program details are available here.” [Source: NeedyMeds]
